OK so it looks like you just need to install xsel on X.org hosts is that correct?

xorg/wayland integration is already there, for neovim either use xsel or use the right registry

Cool, I raised a useful tips PR #1225 for this. It wasn't totally obvious to me so it might help others.
I don't understand what you mean by "use the right registry" - I have neovim setup to yank to the same registry and I use outside the container. I guess you mean install xsel and make sure you yank into the system clipboard registry?
