Pass relationship values to update method

I solved this by overwriting the update method in my BaseModel like this

    def update(self, data: dict = None, **kwargs) -> BaseModel:
        if data is not None:
            if "id" not in data:
                data["id"] = self.id
            self.load(data)
            db.session.commit()
            return

        return super().update(**kwargs)

where self.load uses the models marshmallow schema to load the relationships, which automatically get saved and updated by calling db.session.commit() afterwards.
