That example was actually adapted from one bundled with passport-box, which is quite old. As such neither the SDK, nor passport-box requires that we use an older version of express. I have updated the app under test/helpers/express to use the latest version.
All other libs, node version, etc are recent.

Here's a complete example, using express 4.x, that connects to the authorized user's Box account and fetches some info:
