It shows xp gain on the top left (text) whenever an action causes a skill increase. It also adds a bunch of other extra info display related to the progression of other stuff.

I knew of this mod but doesn't liked it in past because of the small text in skill window.
what i miss ...

• don't like the enemy hp bar
• i have the fitness skill, which is triggered along most skills. Then the text is altered between both skills and drop in readability. (Solution: 2 bars/texts or prioritize game skills over mod skills)

After further testing BetterUI:

• text contains not current level
• text too small to fast grab all infos
• text switch because of fitness skill makes it worse
• exact xp info for common use overkill

• like BetterPickupNotifications on left side or above|below stamina bar
• in form "{skillname} Lv {level}: {percent}" (with percent as text or bar
• multiple lines if more skill were triggered
• optional: gained xp at end of line
