Sorry, I'm going to strongly disagree and I do use promises under the premise that promises are a part of my applications themselves, not for third party APIs. You can always look at promisifying aerospike in your application: ttps://github.com/petkaantonov/bluebird/blob/master/API.md#promisification

However slightly off topic, a callback's first returned parameter should be NULL in cases of aerospike.Status.AEROSPIKE_OK, and just aerospike.Status.ERROR_CODE in cases when it's not.
