Anthony Gawbill's Projects
For class, I created a digital clock (in the format of hh:mm:ss) that updates every second on a webpage, while also adjusting the page's hex using the numerals from the digital clock. I also created a second digital clock in this format, that updated the background image of a div (for morning, afternoon, and night), while presenting a message depending on the time of day ("good morning!", etc)
DOM Mini Challenges for Class
A movie website/community using RUBY/RUBY ON RAILS... where admins can post blogs, users can comment on blogs... also, users can search the movie db and create lists of movies to share publicly or for their own private consumption.
*still under development* A web app I've been working on in my spare time. Essentially, users can create public or private "events" or "meet ups" centering around physical activity. Looking for a group that wants to play pickup basketball? Search public basketball events that have been created by other users close to your zip code. Cycling? Search cycling events. Tennis? Racquetball? A group run? You get the idea. For any sport or activity, members can create either public or private events (private events you can send invitations to your friends registered on the app) where you select an activity, a location (gym, park, tennis court, bike route, etc), number of people you're looking to play with, etc., and you'll be able to link up with other people looking to GetUp&Play!
Click the "wheel of fortune" folder to check out my code. Hangman/Wheel of fortune game using JS, SASS. You press a key on your keyboard, and it logs the attempt.

If you were here... an application for those who have lost a loved one to suicide, to find closure. This is the user facing front-end application... created using React and Redux.

This is a blog app I created using the Node.js runtime and the Express Node framework. I also utilized a number of AWS services when creating this app (Cognito for the user verification, images are uploaded by users to an S3 bucket, and it was deployed using Elastic Beanstalk).
