alright, I use the DIR variable which returns a real path. please try this:

open /cockpit-master/config.php and replace

$docsroot   = isset($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']) ? $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] : dirname(__DIR__);

with (in your case)

$docsroot = dirname(dirname(__DIR__));

Yes.
But i get another bug. When i try use host alias cockpit.local whitch points to /var/ww/Sandbox/cockpit-master. I get redirected to http://cockpit.local/Sandbox/cockpit-master/index.php/auth/login

$docsroot = __DIR__;
