The reason for this is because they zip the items somewhere in flot.py (line 16). Try to change it from
current_series = zip(first_column, current_column) to
current_series = list(zip(first_column, current_column))

And one more thing is you have to convert python time to javascript time by multiply by 1000 (You can google more about this). After that you have to change the mode of the xaxis of the graph to time.

To workaround this, you have to create a new class subclassing an existing class. I have already provided code snippet on how to do this in a comment of #35
