There isn't support for reconnecting. A long time ago there was, but there were too many problems in recreating the state between client and server (bindings, consumers, etc). The recommended strategy for reconnecting is to pass a close_cb parameter into the Connection and recreate your state when the connection is closed.

Regarding your connection reset, check the rabbit logs. You may need to enable heartbeats via the Connection heartbeat parameter. Perhaps there's a firewall or other stateful networking device between client and server?

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing about recreating state being problematic for the library. I will implement your recommendations in my app.
