定理2.22は成立しません．例えば e1 ≡ Z + Z, e2 ≡ Z の場合 e2 から簡約が進まないので e4 が存在しません．
修正はいくつか考えられますが、既に導入した記法を活かすならば、

誤) e2 → e4 かつ e3 → e4
正) e2 →* e4 かつ e3 →* e4

が考えられます．(→* といっても実際は 0 か 1 ステップで e4 に到達しますが．)
