Well, the main difference is that you use Jekyll for building your page. This in turn means if you want to test the build locally, you'll have to install Jekyll locally. My personal experience with Jekyll wasn't too great - that's why I migrated my blog to awestruct - but there was a maintenance release in the meantime. As far as I heard they even support at least some of the Asciidoc syntax now.

Short: It's a decision Asciidoctor vs. Jekyll.

While it's slightly more effort to setup the automated Asciidoctor process with Github, I do like the minimal impact on my local machine due to the asciidoctor-gradle-plugin a thousand times better. +1 for Asciidoctor

Another one: The beautiful netflix page doesn't seem to be build on Github but - if with Jekyll at all - only locally https://github.com/Netflix/netflix.github.com/commits/master
