i can confirm that. but only on machines that are not known to github with their ssh keys. in other words: the clone should be read only if the parent git repo is read only...

Err. Don't talk about documentation. I got pretty confused about the ontowiki.net / google code / github problem, but I'll open another issue for that, #22 and #23
