I Like QUiPP: Quantifying Utility and Preserving Privacy in Synthetic Data Sets
Also discovering how to use Github more effectively so I can be more responsive!

I've put up a quick poll. You can also add your own options. If you do, please post a comment below letting people know so they can go back and vote.

How about METIS?
Origin: Greek goddess of wisdom wikipedia entry
Acronym: Method Evaluation and Tools for Information Synthesis.
A quick google and wiki search doesn't throw up any obvious red flags in terms of alternate meanings.

I like the sound of METIS
from quipp-collab.
We could also consider retaining the QUiPP acronym and adjusting the expansion. e.g.
- Quantifying Utility In Privacy Preservation
- Quantifying Uncertainty in Privacy Preservation
from quipp-collab.
We're down as QUiPP on the ASG-Health session tomorrow, so I'll stick with this for at least our initial presentation. Should I interpret the lack of responses as a general lack of enthusiasm for any name change?

Final decision on project name: QUiPP: Quantifying Utility and Preserving Privacy in Synthetic Data Sets

Confirmation from TPS programme that they are happy with our name change.

Subject: Re: QUIPP acronym tweakTotally fine with me. I like the change.
Katherine can you check with Darren that this change is ok from a logistics point of view? And if so, please go ahead and make the change :)

Hi Kirstie,The QUiPP project team have tweaked our project name to change “Uncertainty” to “Utility”. While we’re still planning to look at how synthetic data contributes to uncertainty and its propagation when used for modelling, the core focus will be on evaluating utility and privacy and the trade-offs between the two made by various data synthesis methods.
So full name changes as follows:
From: QUiPP: Quantifying Uncertainty and Preserving Privacy in Synthetic Data Sets
To: QUiPP: Quantifying Utility and Preserving Privacy in Synthetic Data SetsIs this ok with the programme? If so, please could we update it in the various systems and presentations etc?
Thanks in advance,
Martin
