You can use the Channel::BasicReject() API with requeue=true to do a nack on the message, which will put it back in the queue and mark it as re-queued. Note that nothing stops the broker from redelivering the message to the same consumer that originally consumed it.

One other thing I should mention: in order for the above to work: when you setup your consumer with Channel::BasicConsume() you need to set no_ack=false
