❤️It’ll be fantastic!

Hi Emme,

It could be certainly possible to do so. However, I do not own such device so I won't be able to test that. The only device I currently own is the MSS310 and that is the only one I can develop for.

Thank you...
I'll try to figure out a way based on the instructions of the MSS310 set...
thanks

I've just made a basic implementation of the MSS425e, since I own one as well. It can enable and disable all of the channels. Will send a PR soon 😉

Would someone develope a plugin for Home Assistant? It’ll be great!

ping-localhost avatar ping-localhost commented on July 25, 2024

@gianky69, the reason I wanted to add support for MSS425e is because I'm using HA myself. I might create something for that as well, depending on how this goes.

@gianky69 Support has now been added! 🎉

I'm also still working on a custom component for the Meross plug! The version that I currently have works, but after a few hours the connection is dropped somehow. I still need to fix that bug.

Feel free to follow this repo so you can see my progress though: https://github.com/ping-localhost/meross-custom-component

EDIT: It seems that @soberstadt has a custom component for Meross: https://github.com/soberstadt/homeassistant-config/tree/master/custom_components so it might be a good idea to checkout that one as well. 😁

Thanks to Ping, the library now supports the mss425e.

@emme73 , could you please test it and report back if that works as expected?

soberstadt avatar soberstadt commented on July 25, 2024

@ping-localhost yeah, I wrote a custom component but have been putting it together slowly. I was having connection problems too. It seems that the Device objects don't like making calls to the Meross MQTT server after they have disconnected. The last thing I added before merging it into my master config was a poll every 15 minutes, updating the device list and reconnecting each device: soberstadt/homeassistant-config@a2cf3d5
If you have any suggested changes please let me know. I was planning on running it locally for a week or so before trying to submit it as a new component.

I'll try to adapt it as a normal python script and see whay I can get from
Thanks

@emme73, I've been testing my changes through a plain python script and that worked just fine, so I'm hoping you have the same experience. 😁

@soberstadt I'm going to try out your custom component as soon as it uses the latest version of this library. It looks like it most likely won't or at least not fully since the channels it has would be unused with the current Device definition.

Are you on the Home Assistant Discord? Would love to chat with you about this. 😄

soberstadt avatar soberstadt commented on July 25, 2024

@ping-localhost I am on the discord, but I'm not on their very much. If you want to ping me, I'm @soberstadt there too.

Since this issue has been solved, I suggest you guys to open a separate discussion about developing an HA project (which might be of my interest as well).

Atm MSS425e is supported.
