This app saves your Android device`s notifications and allows you not to miss notifications that are accidentally deleted or that are deleted by the apps themselves. Feel free to recommend new features.

notification-listener-android's Issues

[Bug] Notification flooding, failure to disable, and freezing.

Several minutes after installing the app and enabling all the sought permissions, I started receiving a flood of notifications from this app about supposedly previous deleted notifications. Only these were all indicating a persistent notification from another app that uses a foreground service.

When I tried to turn off the notifications in the settings menu, the switch would turn off but the notifications continued flooding in. I tried force-stopping the app but the notifications flood would promptly resume upon startup.

So I finally I just revoked the notifications permission to restore the peace. But now when I start the app, it just freezes. I cannot click on any of the buttons, neither can I go into the "hamburger" menu.

Widget that mirrors mirrors current notifications

This may seem like an odd request that doesn't quite fit the project (and that may be the case). However, I have long wanted a widget that essentially mirrors the notifications in the main notification panel. It could also be configured to only show a filtered subset of notifications.

The reason for this is due to my experience with elderly users (specifically my grandparents). Even though they have had Android devices for over 10 years, I have never been able to get them to check the notification bar - "swipe down" just isn't something they do.

Older people tend to only interact with what is on their home screen - if an app or widget isn't there right in front of them, they never use it. Every time I visit and check up on their devices, their notification bar is full of items that they never see. They only ever look at what is in front of them on the home screen.

If there was a widget on the home screen that mirrored what is in the notification bar, they would actually notice and respond to notifications. It would be ideal to be able to only show current notifications instead of historical ones.

I don't know if you could add this feature to your current app or if you might consider creating a separate app with this feature. There are one or two paid apps that provide this functionality, but they don't do it well. This is the only FOSS notification manager app I've found, so I am hopeful that you might be willing to add such a capability.

I'm a web developer and not an Android dev, so I don't know if I have the skills to submit a PR. I'm more than happy to test beta releases, though.

Thank you!

[BUG] Uninstaller crash

Believe it or not, if I try to uninstall the app, the Package installer crashes. At first I thought it was an launcher issue or something was wrong in my phone. But it was not. I restarted my phone(though nothing changed). When I tried to uninstall any other app, Package installer was working fine. To confirm this, I installed the app again and (tried to) uninstalled it again.

Luckily, I was not stuck in this situation. With the help of Shizuku and Canta, I was able to uninstall the app.

Note: I installed the app from IzzyOnDroid.

Add App license to About section

App uses GPL v3 license. I think its important information and should be in about section. And if somebody click on it, link should be opened to to license text.

Add to F-froid

Did you think about adding it to F-droid too? Its more restrictive, but that is good thing

With reproducible builds ofc

[Feature] Whitelist

In addition to the blacklist a whitelist would be a nice option to have if one just wants just a couple of apps enabled.

Ideally the blacklist feature would not just show apps that already sent notifications but provide a list with all installed apps that can individually be turned on or off. Maybe with a button to enable all/none on top. The list of apps could also include a 2nd toggle to mark the app as chat app, which would further clean up the ui
