Thanks for reporting this! While the Getting Started section mentions nightly Rust and Cargo as prerequisites, it might be better if it's mentioned more prominently on the first page of the book.
I have time to make the changes later today, though I'm a bit busy with university work ATM. If you can, please make a pull request with your changes, and I'll gladly review it. See the CONTRIBUTING.md file for details on how to contribute documentation.
