It seems that this projects produces either libreplxx.so when doing a release build, or libreplxx-d.so when building in a debug mode. I think I've seen a similar practice on MSVC-targetting projects, but quite frankly, outside that and Boost, projects typically do not vary that one on Linux. What's the reason for that?

This, and the fact that there's no CMake .target for finding the library, makes it rather hard to consume this library downstream (and it's also a behavior change, but OK, the version number makes it clear to expect breakage).
