First name best option (com.github.andlytics) unless good reason for do not use such name.

com.github.andlytics sounds fine to me at the moment. On the other hand I would like a name that matches a domain name like org.andlytics or com.andlytics. I think @andlytics owns the .com domain, so we could probably transfer the domain to on of us and add a single page for now or @andlytics grants (at least) one of us access to the server in order to maintain a website.

All this might be overkill I guess so we might stick with com.andlytics and no .com domain. I am not sure if I want to have github in the name, since this is also the company's name.

@andlytics do you own this domain? --> Can we "use" it?

In case @andlytics does not own the domain I am in line with Bruno to use .org or maybe .net (.mobi is just to expensive...)

We could use "andlytics-project.github.com" as a domain (see https://github.com/fda77/andlytics/tree/gh-pages) , but no "-" are allowd for package names...

andopen.net andopen.org androidopenapps.net androidopenapp.org are free, may be more people want host their open app in this domain

so org.andopen.andlytics could be the name.

I guess we could just use andlytics my point was just that most of the time people use a reverse domain.name like you also do it for java packages... My point for the domain decision was to also have a proper branding in the app id

You are right, Andy.

The problem is to choose something that is "stable" and that can identify Andlytics properly.

The options are:

1. andlytics
2. com.andlytics (if owned by @andlytics and with his permission)
3. some.free.hosting.andlytics
4. change the name of the GitHub project with a package-friendly name and use that

IMMO I would exclude free hostings because they are not stable, what do you think about it?

4. So there are no extra costs. Also no other passwords etc are need and its free. But then is github included

I can do a rename, but beware of this:

We will not set up redirects for your org's old name.
You will need to update your local repositories to point to the new location.
Renaming may take a few minutes to complete.

Just FYI

So if @fda77 and @brunomendola decide to rename, I will change it to AndlyticsProject, even though I kinda liked it this way b/c it is better SEO wise. Or @andlytics gives up his username, so we can rename the organization to that :)
