This seems really like a question about cronet rather than media3, so you may get better support asking them directly - see the final paragraph of this page: https://developer.android.com/develop/connectivity/cronet
The cronet QuicException javadoc links to a definition of QuicErrorCode where it looks like 122 is QUIC_IETF_GQUIC_ERROR_MISSING - which (to my limited understanding) sounds like a CONNECTION_CLOSE frame from the server was missing some extended error information - so you may also want to look into the server implementation involved in your repro case.
I'm going to close this because I don't think there's much more help we can offer on this issue tracker, since the issue is related to the communication between the cronet library and the server in question.
