I just never got around to looking into this. You can try fixing it. A preference to enable this would be nice. The extension already has a few. Since there is no way to recover tabs in private browsing, this extension is nice for those who would like that feature. Keep it enabled by default and I'll try to update this extension with those pop-up release notes that some people do.
