I have created a test issue in fork repo so that I can add the issuehunt fund there.

@Mapiac feel free to increase the fund in order to attract a developer that will spend the time to add this feature.

Note: This feature will be merged to the original so that it will be available to everyone.

@janpio Instead of paying someone externally, how do you recommend finding some contributor in this project to pay him?
Is there a standard way or a recommended one?

There might be more than one that need this new feature and would be willing to pay a one or more developers in order to create the feature.

I just believe it is better that more than one person pays for that new feature so that more than one person can enjoy it.

The most probable way to find someone would be to find the people willing to pay first, combine the individual willingness to pay into an offer, and then e.g. post to the dev mailing list linked at https://cordova.apache.org/contact/ with a concrete offer - or just post it here.

(This plugin hasn't seen real development for ages, so it won't be easy to find anyone with a lot of experience with it.)

I just believe it is better that more than one person pays for that new feature so that more than one person can enjoy it.

If I develop features for Open Source software for someone, my default contract includes that the developed feature will be open sourced as well. You pay for it, but everybody can use it afterwards. Of course not everybody likes that, but 🤷‍♀

Honestly, why do you think this so important plugin is not well maintained?
And do you think there should be a way to support this plugin by the people that are actually willing to contribute one way or another?

I have made another post #137 about it but do you think it is possible to put the plugin for example on issuehunt or any other same platform in order to support it?

Feel free to try that, but an open source issues tracker then is not the right place to discuss this.

Because it means there are no developers that know the current codebase without having to look at it first.

Of course I am not talking about supporting Apache Software Foundation and I am not a millionaire...
I just honestly try to figure out a way in order to be able to support as much as I am able to do it, this plugin that I really think is so important in app development.

I have been using cordova for so so many years and it hurts my feelings to see other plugins like the

to have been able to evolve because there were contributors that would be willing to pay some bucks and would have the ability to do it so that they could support the developers.

@Mapiac what's your opinion? Would you create a bounty to be able to have this open source feature available?

If the feature doesn't break any existing functionality and is well designed, we well may accept that pull request. But even otherwise, your fork would then have this functionality and people wanting it could use it. So that would be great!
