Much like the CLI, I think the validation API would be the most valuable API to expose first.
In particular, I'd be really interested to see Swagger-Tools integrated with Swagger-Editor in much the same way it is currently integrated with jsyaml and tv4 for schema validation.
The editor itself probably does some of the semantic checks already, but toggling on/off the display of swagger-tools semantic warnings seems quite useful.

totally agree. Can the tools be running in the browser or are there node-specific dependencies? We have the https://github.com/swagger-api/validator-badge which is an online service for validating the spec.

The plan is to figure out a packaging process that removes all Node.js stuff. The only place where the API uses an external dependency that doesn't work in the browser is when loading up the schema files. My plan is to create a browser distribution file that has all of the necessary pieces with it in a way that does not use Node.js filesystem APIs. Should be pretty simple I Just need more time.
