If you have any troubles importing your qcow2 image (provided that's the disk format you're dealing with) with the steps in the comment above then I'll reopen this issue. If you'd like a disk image format conversion tool if you're not using qcow2 I can look at building something like that. For now I'm going to consider this issue closed but I can re-open it if you come back to this thread and you haven't been able to import your VM.

If you would like to import your existing appliance provided that it is based on a qcow2 format you can place this image in the default location at ~/.local/libvf.io/kernel/. All you need to then do is reference it in your yaml file in place of the kernel: value.

If it helps I could try to add support for more disk image formats depending on your needs. :)
