I guess this was fixed on latest master already: 05bc85b .. if you could try that version and lemme know.. I am planing to release a new revision to rubygems soon, so if that works I can do it still today..

Sorry for the delay. Had an issue with sidekiq and the tests were failing with the gem updated to master. It had nothing to do with the gem.
Master seems to be OK, and I didn't got this issue again.
