This is a good idea! But why in those commits you decided to replace generics with wildcards(?) ? It's not the approach described in this issue's description.

The commits correspond to an experiment from a hackergarten to improve assertions inheritance in a lighter way than the one described in this issue, it turned out not to be a good approach so the option described in this issue remains the best one although it involves a lot of work.
