After setting this up in a closed customer environment, I have realized the following: any code running inside data bricks has access to its own api key and host information as well as access to the internet to deliver that key to wherever. We therefore cannot protect the environment without further work. Ideas could include strong firewalls, stringent subscription limits, or an environment set up and reset by pipeline with restricted modification access.
