This is probably the old CEF 1 build of Atom... We've taken this old build out of The Setup, and are currently working toward delivering a new build. The new CEF 3 based build is retina compatible, but the performance still needs to be improved.

Hrmm... I’ve just pulled down the latest master, and run rake install, and the resulting build doesn’t seem to be retina-ready either. Should this be the case?

@cobyism I'm having some trouble reproducing your issue. For me, text looks smooth on retina. I wonder what's going on.
