@kiaanpillay First of all, you can't use android:layout_above, android:layout_alignParentRight etc. with a FrameLayout (these parameters are used with RelativeLayout).

The problem in your layout is that if you want to animate the FAB, you need to put in the CoordinatorLayout as a direct child. I suggest to place it like that:
