I wrote this a while back and never considered the retime situation - I'll take a look and see if I can do anything!

Not sure what the transition issue is, but will look at this as well!

I was looking into this today, and this tool swaps out versions by exploiting the "Take" system in resolve - it adds a "new take" for the version on the timeline, changes the take, and saves it to swap out footage.

Unfortunately as far as I can tell at the moment, Resolve doesn't allow takes to be used on retimed clips - the menu option is completely gone!

@willDTF Out of curiousity, for your use case, would swapping the clip out at the bin level work?

I can possibly add a checkbox to "Update project-wide" which will version it up in the BIN, not the timeline. This will change the version in EVERY timeline (And allow retimes)
And if you don't, it would work only on that timeline (but not work on retimes)

I think that's the best solution I can think of given the limitations of the Resolve API.

I just want to make sure it's worth the effort if you think that's an acceptable solution!

@willDTF Just pushed an updated Version Up Shots.py that fixes this issue!

Transitions shouldn't break the app, and now I've added a "Version Up Method" dropdown that allows you to change between swapping media on individual timeline items or project-wide.

Due to issues in Resolve, we can't swap timeline items that have retimes, but in that case you can swap source footage project wide and it should work!

@willDTF Hey, sorry, I removed a part of that code that manually configured system paths to be able to import Resolve, since it theoretically should run fine from within Resolve itself - but I've reverted that change and it should work again!
