There's no default behavior to do this, but you could copy the ICollection mapper from code and remove that functionality and use that Object Mapper to replace the existing one to get your functionality.

Or you can just map the complete parent object back to Entity Framework, and it will handle all the updating of values that you updated from the parent. Then you don't have to deal with figuring out what has changed and EF and AutoMapper will handle that all for you. You will have to send the complete object back to EF, but then you don't have to deal with complex update Patch schema. It just works. Unless someone else updated it right before and you want to keep their children changes as well.
