I have the same problem!
For me the demo.py file doesn't run but results in an error with the shape of the matrix

I have the same problem as @eolweus on demo.py
But when I ran the file of ./examples/run_darts.py, just added config.save_arch_weights = True, It goes well.
I guess the trouble is caused by SimpleCellSearchSpace() and also default config must have save_arch_weights attribute...

+) I just changed search space to NasBench201SearchSpace for less heavy search then NasBench301SearchSpace
