Getting the same issue in 1.0.2, and oddly specific:

Hmm, on second thought, under Ruby 1.9.2, running rake
gives me: uninitialized constant Rake::DSL
when I bundle awesome_print from the dev branch. 1.9.3 is good to go.
If someone else can reproduce, I'll be happy to write up a separate issue.

This is on my list as well: all traces of rake should be moved from .gemspec to Rakefile.
