Hey there,

thank you for your contribution. However, the contributing guidelines state:

Any software project you are adding was first released more than 4 months ago.

From what I can observe, the first commit was made 2 months ago, but there appears to be no release or any other milestones. I would like to propose the creation of a release, or at the very least, a git tag, once the software reaches a reasonably stable state. The term "first released" or "initial release" typically implies the presence of stable releases, ensuring that users do not need to constantly run the latest development version (versions from the master branch).

Hi, currently there are still no stable releases or git tags - I understand that, being a proxy/meta-search-engine for other search engines, having the latest version installed at all times may help to keep it working in response to changes in how these 3rd-party search engines work.

As I pointed out in #361, having a basic changelog or regular releases is still helpful for several reasons.

I tried to find at which revision the software started being considered "usable" and somewhat reliable, but could not pinpoint a particular version. This, coupled with not-so-useful commit messages [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] leads me to think that all development is performed on the master branch, so any user installing it at the "wrong time" (e.g just before one of these "quick fix" commits) will end up with a broken version.

So I'd like to keep this addition on hold until these problems are solved (no stable releases/changelog + unreliable master branch).

Well, whatever you do you'll always need to keep it updated because websites update more often than you'd think. This project has been developed for since last November. Admittedly, some important features are still being worked on (reverse image search, google support, themes). 4get has been available since July 1st 2023.

I consider the current builds to be very stable and ready for broad use, but it's true that it "needs to mature".
Thank you for your input!!

This is now mature enough.

The problems mentioned in the comment above persist to this day
