hmm is this 3.0.3?

Check in your browser's inspector tab i.e. on Chrome right click > Inspect and take a look at the console tab.

Can you send a screenshot of what you see?

I just tested on 3.0.3 with chrome and firefox and had no issues.

Possibly related to this: I'm seeing the DCV sessions fail to connect after the head node is rebooted. When a reboot happens, the DCV session ID is reset and the button (or pcluster API?) has the old value cached. (Pcluster 3.0.3)

The mechanism used by Pcluster Manager is to perform an SSM command that generates a session token on the head node -- so the session id is created on-the-fly (e.g. not cached by the front-end). Do we know if the DCV session is successfully created via the command line in the case where the head node is restarted? It might be at a lower level as Pcluster Manager should do the same operation that the CLI does.

For @jhthpc ’s issue it looks like it’s network routing. i.e. the allowed ip specified in the config has changed. The fix is to change the IP, use a site like https://whatismyipaddress.com/ in case you’re behind a NAT.

@bollig if it was session it’d show DCV screen but say no session available.

@jhthpc Another alternative to opening up a port is to use SSM to create a tunnel to localhost. You can keep all the cluster’s ports closed and use an SSM tunnel to connect to the instance. This is not nearly as easy as clicking the DCV button but it’s another option if security and keeping Ports locked is necessary.

Does creating the session from the pcluster cli work here?

Trying to determine if the source of the problem is in pcluster manager or pcluster

Fixed cider range in DCV configuration and now things are working!! Thanks for the help!

BTW, the password reset function doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for the heads up @jhthpc

I’d be curious to hear your first impressions of pcluster-manager. Can you shoot me an email at [email protected]
