why catch method is not invoked?

The only way that I was able to make it works was:

moxios.wait(() => {
      const request = moxios.requests.mostRecent();
      request.respondWith({ status: 400 }).then(() => {
        try {
          // assert something
          done();
        } catch (err) {
          done.fail(err);
        }
      });
    });
