Can you do a git pull and try again, it looks like you are in the wrong working directory... the correct path should be iot-edge-samples\js\simple.

Per Azure/iot-edge-v1#331, this is due to trying to use an unsupported OS.

@anweiss Please try latest version(1.1.4) of azure-iot-gateway, it starts to support Debian Jessie and Raspbian.
