Yeah, I also encounter this problem with any other than standard http port 80. If I run my application on port 443, 8080, 8000 or simply any other than 80, I'm able to see errors in console, but not in js notifier extension (in-page error icon don't appear etc...).

Maybe that problem is in getBaseHostByUrl method in file background.js .
It's due to that described method is unable to parse URL where http port is defined explicitly (i.e. ":8080", "http://localhost:8080/" respectively)
