How to user Debugbar with API development?

I'm not really sure (I just created the datacollectors/service provider for Laravel). But you can check the docs on http://phpdebugbar.com/docs/ to render your javascript/assets and probably add a listener to xhr requests. But not really sure.

I mean the Laravel code would be the same, just that the public assets would need be used with Angular front-end, and the data this front-end would come via API.

It seems it would be a lot work to make this package to transmit the data via API. Nice idea though :)

Well the data is already added to ajax requests, but the initialisation is done by a php script, that attaches a listener to all ajax requests.
You can see for yourself when you run the debugbar with php, first it includes the assets and then the init code (tabs etc), attaches the listener like this:

phpdebugbar.ajaxHandler = new PhpDebugBar.AjaxHandler(phpdebugbar);
if (jQuery) phpdebugbar.ajaxHandler.bindToJquery(jQuery);

And finally adds the first dataset (which you wouldn't have to do.
