If I'm not able to choose a date in October 2014, I would expect it to open up in the month closest to the current date that has an eligible date to select. Either that, or just don't bother disabling the arrow buttons.

There isn't a good way of knowing what dates will be available (since any function can decide arbitrarily whether each day is allowed), so you're expected to change the month when opening the calendar for now.

The arrow buttons to change between months are disabled, so I can't go back to an eligible time.
