I can't do that because I don't have pvr equipment, so I can't test anything. Patches are welcome though.

Hell i'll buy you a dvb tuner if you wish. A little USB jobbie should do the trick.

I would prefer this one too! It's almost the only thing left for a complete skin (like confluence but much nicer).

I already tried to integrate it but I had no success. But so far what I did: I could enable the TV category (and it's options) in the settings. But the Live TV button itself I'm not able to get it to show up.

But if it helps someone:

  1. You need to edit \720p\Settings.xml and add the TV entry (you can copy it from confluence but keep in mind to increase the label2 number because this one is already in use by the hardware info). Also you have to increase the item id's after you inseted the new code block. just compare the two settings.xml files from aeon nox and confluense and you'll notice what to change.
  2. Add the new language settings (\language\English\settings.xml, \language\German\settings.xml) . Also here you can copy from confluense as long as you use german and english. other languages are not present.
  3. You need a background for the TV area. You can copy the one from confluense too for now (\backgrounds\tv.jpg).

After these changes you at least got System > TV tab.

There is now a dummy client available for pvr testing for those without pvr equipment. Once I get that up and running I'll add support for pvr :)

Grinsekatze avatar Grinsekatze commented on July 17, 2024

Wonderfull! Btw. can you tell me more about the dummy? I'm interessted in it.
Also you might take a look at: http://vdr.gekrumbel.de/mirror/xbmc/aeon-pvr/ Maybe it helps.

I only read this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=979561&postcount=20
Haven't looked into yet, so don't know how it works.

Yeah see opdenkamp/xbmc@5559867

You just enable the 'pvr-demo' addon and it populates the TV menus with some dummy channels, EPG entries etc.

BigNoid avatar BigNoid commented on July 17, 2024

Have you tried this? I compiled master branch from opdenkamp and I see the pvr.demo in the addons directory, but don't see it in the pvr addons.

Grinsekatze avatar Grinsekatze commented on July 17, 2024

I wanna give that a try in the next furture. At the moment I still use the Dharma build from Marcel 'margro' Groothuis.

MartijnKaijser avatar MartijnKaijser commented on July 17, 2024

I compiled it on windows but got couple of errors so i can't try it. Maybe contact Lars on how to use it?

from aeon-nox.

Tocinillo2 avatar Tocinillo2 commented on July 17, 2024

Finally the PVR demo doesn"t work?? If Big_Noid likes, I'll buy you a USB dongle (dvb tuner)...

Regards!!!

BigNoid avatar BigNoid commented on July 17, 2024

I'll try to find out what the problem is, I've been real busy with the new featured window, so this kinda got back on the low prio again. No need to buy me a dongle if the demo is there. Just need to figure out how it works. Thx for the offer though.
