It looks like conda installed the cpu version. Could you also post what you get in conda list for pytorch

Yes, it seems like the cpu version got installed:
pytorch 1.12.1 py3.9_cpu_0 pytorch

Ok, it seems that the installation instructions for pytorch have changed.
According to https://pytorch.org/ installing a gpu version now works as this:
conda install pytorch torchvision torchaudio pytorch-cuda=11.6 -c pytorch -c nvidia
We should update the installation instructions here. (And also note that they might get outdated here and recommend to check with the official pytorch instuctions).

That seems to work. I created a new environment and run that command.
Only after that I installed bioimageio.core with:
conda install -c conda-forge bioimageio.core
The problem is no longer there, thank you.
