What version of the gems active-model, rails, pg are you currently using?

this is when you try to save the model, right?

Yep. But mysteriously this happens once every 10k workers or so. I wasn't really able to pinpoint the issue.

I decided to give it a shot with my own fork, that has less functionality. Workers seem to be running better in production. https://github.com/hendricius/hstorly - thanks for the good work 👍
