When I was new to sass, I found most sources saying scss was the official syntax, and so the + syntax was not clear to me. My vote would be for @include

I couldn't get the + syntax to work, even when I switched to using sass files. I had initially configured the project to use scss, and apparently wasn't able to reconfigure correctly. I voe for using @include.
