Ctrl-D is the preferred way to exit the repl and is standard across just about all Linux readline apps. I'd prefer not to add special \slash commands, if possible, especially because PHP uses that syntax for namespaces ;)

Hah. :-) So, I've been using Linux on and off for over 10 years now, and had never come across that standard. Just tested in psql, irb and php -a, works a trick. So, virtual beer to you!

But as a sop to folks such as myself who have somehow missed that convention, might it be worth a one-liner in the README? "To exit Boris, press Ctrl-D at any time." perhaps...
