You need have installed passport and passport-local, there packages are in package,json :
node_passport_login/package.json
Lines 21 to 22 in eda60b8
You just need run npm install after clone the repo
from node_passport_login.

This line in my app.js solved it all !
require('./config/passport')(passport);
