Basically, the extension schema is an XSD schema extension for the Markup, which can be used to place further restrictions on certain types. For example, the generic string
for TopicType
may use an xs:restriction
to limit it only to the allowed values of Issue
, Information
and Message
.

from bcf-xml.

What I did not realize was that xs:anyUri
accepts an empty string, as well. Hence, if I do not want to place any "further restrictions on certain types", I can simply add an empty <ExtensionSchema/>
element in the project.bcfp
file and everything is valid.
