how many "queues" have you created(opened) in your project?

Also try this jvm setting:

java -d64 -XX:MaxDirectMemorySize=12g -XX:+UseLargePages com.example.MyApp

I figured it out. I had multiple objects holding on to the same queue. That
was the issue. whenever a queue operation was initiated the object failed
to get a write lock because of the multiple instances. Now I am making sure
that all the objects are using the same bigqueue instance.
