I'm still writing the docs (You can check all I have to add here and you can check all the API methods here), but you can use the login or the authenticate to get the user HASH.
With that, you can you can get all the info about the user using getUser action
(api.php?action=getUser&hash=USERNAME:HASH).

First, I have to complete (mainly) the API with version 1.X.
I have already started testing the API with v2.X (to try not to change much), so maybe it will be available in 2 weeks (only the web API).

I'm mainly looking for the webapi. Is it possible to add something to auth the user and return their account info like the names and groups they are in? example I send a post with their username and password and then it replies with info like the groups and etc.
