I didn't have this error local, but on docker/kubernetes. After locally removing and installing node modules, I also got this error on my localhost.
I can replace files locally, but my application runs 'npm install' when starting on the cloud. So the fix mentioned above won't help me there..

I also tried switching to the newest version (my app uses 1.2.6) but the error is still there.

I've update the repository and package in npm, but before close the issue, can you tell me your SO and what package manager and version did you used to install this ?

i believe i tried yarn v1.6.0 and npm v5.8.0
